How much can be done in one day’s research?
On some days a dozen or more ancestors can be found and added. On others it can sometimes take a full day searching for a single birth date, and then find there isn't any record! At the end of every full day’s research a PDF of your family tree will be emailed to you so that you can see the progress. You can call a halt at any time after 3 days, so costs will not run away with you. Extra days research can be requested at a cost of £79 per day.
Why is there a minimum of 3 days research?
This is to cover the time spent on the original consultation and the cost of the canvas print. Anything less would likely result in a very meagre family tree. 3 days will usually be enough time to trace some ancestors back to the late 1700s/early 1800s.
Does yourancestors.biz supply birth, death and marriage certificates?
No, but there are good reasons for this. Certificates cost us £10-£25 each and are usually not entirely necessary to create a family tree. We can give you information on where to purchase these for yourself if you require. If for some reason we do need to purchase a certificate on your behalf we will ask your permission first.
Does yourancestors.biz physically visit archives?
This would add considerably to the time taken and therefore the costs. This is seldom necessary to create a family tree, but if it should become crucial you would be asked in advance. The majority of our research is done online via exclusive subscription databases and countless Parish Records.
